A few words from the creators
In June 1996, the first JUNKZ Magazine came on the market in black and white. The idea of the magazine was to show monthly illegal graffiti in and around Zurich mixed with interviews, small reportage party dates and other useless things. We started with a team of five people. After a few issues and many problems, the team has slowly shrunk to 2 people. These two then edited the JUNKZ Magazine in not always regular intervals for many years. In between came JUNKZ "THE MOVIE" with music by Dj Reezm and the JUNKZ Magazine no. 1 in color on the market. These two projects were never continued.
In 2015, we came up with the idea that we could join in the global digitalization and publish all JUNKZ magazines again. This time of course in color and online. From the idea to the realization a few years have passed, but now we have managed to realize this project. With the help of a third person, we managed to scan all the original templates. In days, nights and weeks of work, we then built these scans together, searched missing photos from our archive and added one. Now you can also admire these relics, some of which are over 20 years old, in color (or at least as colorful as it was possible to reconstruct them).
